Very powerful, full of optimism, lots of crossed fingers. That’s how I would describe the atmosphere on the first day of the 2023-24 school year at Russell Byers Charter. Our Student Affairs Program Manager, Bryony Grant, met students as they arrived at 1911 Arch to take pictures inside "pop-up" frames with first-day good wishes. Parents gave each other high fives. All teachers and staff were ready to go. The air conditioning was a welcome balm to the hot day… and the buses were only 30 minutes late (sigh). All in all, a great start to what should be a challenging yet productive year.
